Newcastle United backed to complete double deal after ‘big’ development – pundit
Newcastle United will sign at least two players before the transfer window closes.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Mgpies’ plans.
Newcastle’s only addition this month has been Garang Kuol, though the deal to bring him to the North East was finalised shortly after the summer window closed.

Eddie Howe admitted, as quoted by Shields Gazette (15 January), that the club are in the market for a new midfielder this month.
“I know it has been quiet at Newcastle so far this month, it’s been quiet everywhere,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“But we saw this in the summer. There was nothing and then Matt Target was on his way for a medical.
“There was nothing then Nick Pope and Sven Botman arrived out of nowhere. Isak came completely out of the blue.
“I don’t even think Newcastle had been linked with him when the news broke that he was in the air on his way to St James’, that’s big for them,
“It would not surprise me at all if Newcastle got a couple of players over the line before the deadline.
“They are capable of that. A lot of clubs aren’t. There are messages to journalists and agents and then it makes its way onto social media and a deal hasn’t even been agreed.

Newcastle signed five senior players last January.
The only notable departure so far this month saw Chris Wood join Nottingham Forest.
In other news, Newcastle United have been told to complete multiple last-gasp signings – ‘I can see it happening’, says pundit.
