Newcastle United could now accept Alexander Isak offer – sources

Newcastle United could be vulnerable to losing Alexander Isak in the upcoming summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (18 March) that Isak, 24, is on the shortlist for Arsenal as they plan a striker signing in the off-season.

The Gunners are long-term admirers of Isak and tried to sign him before his reported £63million move to St James’ Park in 2022.

Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to approach Newcastle about a potential deal but hold a concrete interest in the Sweden international as the off-season approaches.

The Magpies could have to cash in on top players this summer to do the business they want in the transfer window.

Newcastle could now be forced to cash in on long-term Arsenal target Isak

Howe’s side are under major pressure to abide by the Premier League’s financial obligations due to heavy spending in recent transfer windows.

Isak is one of their most valuable stars after establishing himself as a capable top-flight scorer since joining in 2022.

He has hit 16 goals in 30 games across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign – including 12 goals in the Premier League.

The Sweden international, who has already racked up 42 caps for his country, is out of contract in June 2028.
