Newcastle United could sign ‘incredible’ Allan Saint-Maximin alternative after journalist’s reveal – pundit
Paul Robinson has claimed Brighton winger Leandro Trossard would be a “next level” signing for Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested the 27-year-old would provide much-needed cover and competition for Allan Saint-Maximin.
Trossard has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur (23 October), the Magpies are keen on signing the Belgium international.
The versatile forward’s contract at the Amex Stadium runs until the end of June next year, although there is a 12-month extension clause.
When asked by Football Insider if Trossard would be a welcome addition to Eddie Howe’s squad, Robinson said: “I was at the Etihad on Saturday and I was really impressed with Trossard.
“It was one of the few times I have seen him in the flesh and he was incredible. He cause Man City all kinds of problems in the second half. He was doing exactly the same in the first half. Every time he picked up the ball he was positive and direct.
“I think he would fit in excellently at Newcastle.
“Eddie Howe cannot rely on Allan Saint-Maximin’s fitness. [Miguel] Almiron has been brilliant on the other side.
“Trossard is the next level above. I think he is an outstanding Premier League player, I really do.”

Trossard has contributed six goals and two assists in 11 Premier League appearances this season.
He has made 21 appearances for Belgium.
