Newcastle United expected to table £60m James Maddison bid imminently after source’s reveal – pundit
Paul Robinson has urged Newcastle United to table a £60million bid for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England one is adamant the 25-year-old is worthy of his sizeable price tag.
Newcastle have seen bids of £40million and £50million rejected by the Foxes in this window.

Sources have told Football Insider (1 August) that Brendan Rodger’s side value the attacking midfielder at £60million.
Maddison‘s contract at the King Power Stadium runs until the end of June 2024.
When asked by Football Insider if the Englishman was worthy of a club-record bid from the Magpies, Robinson said: “Listen, I think Newcastle should spend £60million on Maddison.
“It is as simple as that.
“He would become an integral part of their starting XI. He would make a real difference.
“Newcastle should pay the price. It makes a lot of sense to me.
“They are going to have to pay more than they are currently willing to part with, that’s for sure.
“I suspect they will as well. I don’t think it will be long until they up their bid again.

“I think they have just been testing the water to see where Leicester are at. If Maddison wants to leave the deal will get done in the end.
“I understand that Newcastle are conscious of being held to ransom but if anyone is to get Maddison they will have to pay at least £60million. He is a top Premier League player.”
