Newcastle United fans should ‘worry’ now after Bruno Guimaraes latest – pundit
Bruno Guimaraes’ recent comments about a move to Real Madrid should “worry” Newcastle United fans.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Guimaraes, 24, scored his first goals of the season on Saturday (8 October) as his brace helped Newcastle beat Brentford 5-1.
The midfielder has quickly become a fan favourite and established himself as a key part of Eddie Howe’s setup despite only arriving at the club in January.
As quoted by the Mirror earlier this week (10 October), the midfielder revealed he has had a “conversation” with Real Madrid who he described as the “best club in the world”.
Wenham claims transfer links to the world’s biggest clubs are something Newcastle fans will have to get used to.
“What a performance from Bruno at the weekend,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“The fans seem to love him and after performances like that, of course you get all of the transfer links and things like that.
“The fact is, he is a quality player who will be watched by the biggest clubs in the world. Newcastle cannot yet compete with these guys so that has to be a worry.
“But it looks like Bruno is happy in Newcastle and I know in the past he has spoken about being a legend there so that’s all positive.”

Guimaraes signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Magpies when he arrived from Lyon during the club’s transformative winter window.
The eight-time Brazil international has scored seven times and provided two assists in 23 Premier League games for Eddie Howe’s side.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has revealed that Newcastle United spending is to soar past £700million and it “will attract real publicity”.
