Newcastle United have ‘whole of Premier League worried’ as ‘big’ transfer claim issued – pundit

Eddie Howe has done a “fantastic job” at Newcastle United and it is a “big worry” for the rest of the Premier League.

That is the view of ex-England and Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Howe’s impact at St. James’ Park.

After their 2-0 win at Brentford on Saturday (26 February), Newcastle are on an unbeaten run of seven Premier League games.

They have not lost in the league this calendar year and their last defeat came at the hands of Man City before Christmas (19 December).

“Listen, I think Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It’s the whole team, forget Joelinton and Joe Willock. Players like Dan Burn, Jonjo Shelvey and Ryan Fraser, they’ve all been magnificent.

“They’ve all stepped up to the plate. Eddie Howe needed them to step out of their comfort zone and they’ve all put in outstanding performances.

“They look like they can beat anyone on their day now, Newcastle. They’re putting in great performances away from home and at home. They’ll be fine this season.

“It’s a big worry for the rest of the Premier League next season after another transfer window.

“They will throw a lot of players on the transfer list and they will swap a load of players with new ones. It’s very exciting times for Newcastle fans and the whole of the Premier League are worried about them.”

Newcastle

Newcastle are up to 14th-place in the Premier League, four points clear of the relegation zone.

They are next in action on Saturday (5 March) when Brighton & Hove Albion visit St. James’ Park.
