Newcastle United news: ‘Lots’ of clubs are trying to sign Ryan Fraser after latest – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed there will be “a lot” of clubs on alert for Newcastle United’s Ryan Fraser.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back insisted Fraser still has “a lot to offer” in the Premier League.
According to the Telegraph (2 December), the Magpies are willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old in January after he expressed his frustration at not being a first-team regular.
The Scotland international is believed to be looking for a new club in January with Brentford and Southampton said to be interested.
The winger has struggled to make his mark on the first team at St James’ Park since his arrival from Bournemouth in 2020.
This season Fraser has only made eight Premier League appearances for Eddie Howe’s side has has fallen further down the pecking order behind revitalised Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin.
When asked if Fraser’s future is in the Premier League, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think so.
“I think he still has a lot to offer. I understand why he has been given the green light to leave.

“He has been a good servant to the club. He came in and has done his job well but they are just looking at a different type of player now. They are looking to move on from that so I understand.
“I think when he is playing regularly he has got that pace, that drive, that energy and he can make things happen. There will be a lot of clubs on alert knowing that he is up for a transfer.“
