Newcastle United set for ‘next phase’ after source’s update on four potential transfers – Robinson
Paul Robinson expects Newcastle United to sell a number of their first team players in 2023.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said numerous stars will have to exit St. James’ Park to “make room for the next wave of signings”.
Magpies manager Eddie Howe is gradually reshaping his squad and wants to offload players who are not seen as capable as playing at Champions League level in the future.

Sources told Football Insider on 11 December that club captain Jamaal Lascelles, wingers Ryan Fraser and Matt Ritchie, and left-back Jamal Lewis have been deemed surplus to requirements.
Fraser is the only player of those that has been given regular game time this season.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “Newcastle are going into the next phase of their recruitment.
“They have to trim their squad to make room for the next wave of signings because they have quite a big squad. That is why they will be willing to listen to offers for some of their players in January.

“They might have to take a loss on some of them but so be it. The owners have got lots of money and they want to be challenging at the top end of the league.
“I think there will be a lot of movement in and out of the door over the next few seasons.”
