Newcastle United plot triple Crystal Palace raid after Freedman latest – sources
Newcastle United hold a strong interest in Crystal Palace stars Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, sources have told Football Insider.
The Magpies are close to appointing Palace technical director Dougie Freedman to replace Dan Ashworth – who agreed a move to Man United in February.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (13 May) that official news on Freedman, 49, joining Newcastle could come soon after the end of the 2023-24 campaign – which is just days away.
All three players were brought to Selhurst Park by the Scot, who took the post in Croydon in 2017.
However, it is believed Newcastle are aware that Palace’s valuations of their star assets could prove a sticking point as they plan their summer business.
Newcastle keen on moves for Guehi, Eze and Olise this summer
The Magpies are also anticipating strong competition from other Premier League and European sides for the trio.
Additionally, they are aware Palace will be unwilling to sell all three players as they look to capitalise on the promise shown since Oliver Glasner’s appointment in February.
Guehi, who is under contract until June 2026, has made 24 starts in an injury-affected 2023-24 campaign.
Eze has managed nine goals and five assists in 30 appearances this term and is under contract until 2027.

Olise, who has been limited to just 18 appearances this term, has notched 10 goals and five assists this term – putting him on the radar of Europe’s elite sides.
The France Under-21 international signed a new deal last year (2023), keeping him at Selhurst Park until 2027.
