Newcastle United news: Medical expert reveals Ryan Fraser return date as ‘huge blow’ confirmed
Newcastle United star Ryan Fraser will return from a hamstring issue within “10 to 14 days”.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Fraser, 28, initially tried to continue but was eventually forced off 15 minutes into Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Wolves last Friday (8 April).

Eddie Howe called the setback a “huge blow” but was unable to give an update on the winger’s condition, per the Shields Gazette after the match.
Dinnery suggests that the Scot’s issue is at the lower end of the spectrum.
“By his own admission, he has had his fair share of injuries,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“This season, he has had a couple of knocks and niggles, but he has flourished under Eddie Howe.
“He has made himself available and has been up for the fight, but the hamstring issues he’s been having go back to the beginning of December.
“So the fact this latest setback has forced him off isn’t great, although he did try to run it off.
“It was one of those where it was a bit of a 50-50 call where he maybe thought he could continue.
“As long as that issue hasn’t been exacerbated, we should be looking at the short end of the timeline. For a grade one, we’re maybe talking 10 to 14 days.
“Miguel Almiron came on and did okay, and Eddie Howe is a fan of him. That affords Fraser that little bit of time to recover properly.”

Fraser’s 28 appearances this season have yielded two goals and three assists.
Newcastle are currently 15th in the league table and host Leicester City on Sunday (17 April).
