Newcastle United tipped to rocket up Premier League amid ‘£300m’ Danny Mills transfer claim
Danny Mills has predicted Newcastle United to spend at least £100million on new players this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender also suggested the Magpies will be looking to finish in the top-eight next season.
As per The Athletic (31 March), Newcastle United are looking to sign between four and six players this summer with a focus on “quality over quantity”.

It was also reported that Newcastle are monitoring potential free transfers and loans in a bid to stretch their funds.
While admitting the club won’t be taking “baby steps”, Mills insists the Magpies will not spend £300million this summer.
“In January, Newcastle were going to spend £70million, they ended up spending £100million,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They have said they will spend £60million this summer, they could easily spend another £90million or £100million.
“I don’t think they are going to suddenly go and spend £300million.
“They will obviously stay up so now it’s about going to the next level.
“It’s now looking at the top-eight. It’s not baby steps but you can’t go from zero to 100 miles per hour.
“It simply does not work. You aren’t going to see them signing a brand new squad this summer.
“It’s about making the right deals and signing the right players in the right positions.”

According to The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards (24 March), Newcastle have ruled out making “superstar” signings this summer.
It was also claimed Eddie Howe has a budget of around £60million to work with.
