Newcastle United tipped to sign Callum Wilson replacement as ‘£90m big deal’ claimed – Mills
Danny Mills has tipped Newcastle United to sign an upgrade on Callum Wilson this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England full-back suggested Newcastle may spend £90million in the upcoming transfer window on three key players including a new striker to replace the 30-year-old.
The Telegraph reported on Wednesday (23 March) the club have set a budget of just £60million for the summer window.

They spent £90million in January with Keiran Trippier, Dan Burn, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes arriving on permanent deals and Matt Targett signing on loan.
“If they say you’ve got £200million everyone puts their price up and every agent starts flocking around you,”
“They will spend what they need to spend and what they feel is right to go to the next level. They will be looking to stabilise and finish in the top half comfortably.
“They’ve brought in some good signings, don’t forget. Dan Burn has been a good signing, Kieran Trippier has been a good signing. Bruno Guimaraes looks decent. They don’t need to replace those.
“They might need another centre-forward with Callum Wilson’s fitness issues.
“It’s maybe three more players and if they end up spending another £90million, big deal. Nobody would bat an eyelid at that and it wouldn’t be a shock or a surprise.”

Wilson has managed just 14 Premier League starts this season and has missed the club’s last 10 top-flight games with a calf injury.
Football Insider reported earlier this month (15 March) he is confident of returning for the final five games of the season.
In other news, a source has revealed Newcastle United are plotting a move to sign an ‘absolute beast’ as a new transfer mission is made.
