Kieran Maguire: Newcastle United ‘wowing’ sponsors as multiple new deals on the cards

Prospective new sponsors will be “wowed” if Newcastle United present well in their mooted new All or Nothing documentary series.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about how starring in the Amazon programme could benefit the Magpies.

Per the Daily Mail last Friday (12 August), Amazon want Newcastle to be the fourth Premier League club to star in the series.

Man City, Tottenham and most recently Arsenal have all been subjects of the world-famous fly-on-the-wall series.

Newcastle meanwhile are looking to boost their commercial income in order to spend at the rate of which the new ultra-rich owners the Saudi Public Investment are capable.

Maguire explained how the extra global attention the Tynesiders would garner as a result of the documentary would be “good news” for the commercial department.

“The value of commercial deals is first and foremost linked to eyeballs,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

“If you can have what is effectively a glorified branding exercise in the documentary, then this is good news for the club.

“If you come out of it in a positive way, it could be that commercial sponsors in the overseas market say ‘wow, this club aligns with where we are as a brand’.

“It can only be a positive thing unless they come out of it looking like the clown car that Sunderland did in their documentary.
