Matthias Jaissle is already facing growing concerns after his Newcastle United side were embarrassed by Coventry City.

Sven Botman's Goal of the Month contender was nothing more than a consolation, as the Magpies shipped four goals at the CBS Arena on Monday, 12 October.

Jack Rudoni, Sidiki Cherif, Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni were all in on the action, as the Sky Blues claimed their first Premier League home win of the campaign.

It was a frustrating night for everyone involved with the visitors, even with several returning players, such as Joelinton, Amar Dedic and Dan Burn.

Fans were certainly concerned when the starting lineup was announced, and within minutes, their fears were confirmed by an awful display.

Lukas Hornicek lacked confidence, Matias Fernandez-Pardo was lost as a lone striker, and Jacob Murphy... Well, he should have been sold in the summer.

Matthias Jaissle in 'crime against humanity'

That is what Newcastle fans believe, anyway, with many in disbelief that the club turned down two offers from Nottingham Forest, including a £15million bid.

Supporters are furious that Murphy continues to "pull the wool over" Jaissle's eyes, having started half of Newcastle's Premier League games so far this season.

Jacob Murphy's stats vs Coventry City explored

Murphy was replaced after just 59 minutes, making way for Bazoumana Toure on the right flank, who ended up suffering an injury, sadly.

In that time, he did create three chances, but only with an xA of 0.15, missed a big chance, completed just 33 per cent of his dribbles, and only accurately delivered 25 per cent of his crosses [FotMob].

The 31-year-old won just 33 per cent of his ground duels, committed a foul, and missed an effort from just a few inches out in the 31st minute.

It is easy to see why so many supporters are ready to see Murphy sold, and why an increasing majority believe he should have been gone in the summer.

Jaissle will have a chance to put things right against Aston Villa on Saturday, 17 October, but very few will be confident in him doing so.
