Sources: Newcastle's updated stance on Matthias Jaissle revealed
Newcastle United have no plans to sack Matthias Jaissle in the near future despite growing pressure, sources have told Football Insider.
The Magpies have endured a mixed start to the season under the new boss, with two twins, two draws and two defeats from their opening six Premier League games.
Following 4-1 defeats in back-to-back away games at Leeds United and Coventry City either side of the international break, frustrations have started bubbling at St James' Park.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Newcastle remain confident that Jaissle is the right man to lead their ambitious plans.
The boss is extremely highly regarded by the Magpies' ownership, who targeted him as soon as it became clear that Eddie Howe would not continue as manager.
Jaissle will now be given space, time and patience to get his ideas across regardless of what has been an inconsistent start to his tenure, with no internal pressure on his position.
Could Matthias Jaissle be sacked by Newcastle?
Football Insider reported on 15 October that Jaissle is already coming under fire at Newcastle, but there are no plans to hit the panic button just yet.
Despite dropping to 11th in the Premier League table after a poor turn of form following their three-game unbeaten run to start the season, he retains the club's backing.
There is an acceptance among the Newcastle hierarchy that Jaissle will need time to get his ideas across, and they are prepared to give him that rather than rushing into a decision.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Yeah, there are no concerns at all about Matthias Jaissle's future at Newcastle United.
"Obviously, it's a bit of a blip, and it's probably been the manner of those most recent away defeats when they lost to Leeds before the break and then to Coventry on Monday night.
"But Jaissle is highly regarded within the Newcastle hierarchy, they know it's going to be a bit of an up-and-down season, because they've got a young squad and they've made major changes.
"Bruno leaving, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, so they were big players to lose and they were always bound to have an impact on Newcastle's performances.
"After six games; two wins, two draws, two defeats. It's probably the inconsistency that might affect Newcastle this season anyway, which is expected with such a young squad."
Which players are causing issues for Jaissle?
Jaissle's recent issues and poor run of form at Newcastle have come as a result of his players adapting to a new system and new style of play at St James' Park.
However, some players have adjusted better than others, and there are certain underperforming stars who are contributing directly to the pressure on the manager.
Football Insider reported on 13 October that Matis Fernandez-Pardo's form has become a concern at Newcastle, with his display againsy Coventry raising red flags.
After his £51million arrival at St James' Park during the summer, the Magpies expected more from the forward, and some have questioned his impact as a number nine.
Lukas Horincek's displays have also raised concerns following his summer arrival, as it was his error against Coventry that saw Sidiki Cherif brought down for a penalty.
