Next Crystal Palace manager: Frank Lampard odds slashed amid new development

Frank Lampard has once again seen his odds slashed to become the new Crystal Palace manager.

With Oliver Glasner set to depart at the end of the season, the Eagles are on the hunt for a long-term replacement.

In the Championship, Lampard has heavily impressed and looks destined to take Coventry City into the Premier League, with the club clear at the top of the Championship.

However, his stay at the Sky Blues may not last too much longer, with Oddschecker on 7 March confirming that the manager’s odds to become the next Crystal Palace manager have been slashed down to 12/1.

Lampard has been heavily linked to Palace for weeks, and this is just the latest twist in the ongoing saga.

Can Frank Lampard perform in the Premier League?

Before his move to Coventry City, Lampard’s managerial reputation was in the mud.

After being sacked by Everton, his interim role at Chelsea was a disaster, winning just one of 11 matches, losing eight.

While he has since proven himself capable at the Sky Blues, the question will be whether he can improve upon his last reign in the top-flight.

Plenty suggests that he is capable of this, after previously finding success during his first spell at Chelsea, where he guided the club to the Champions League despite a transfer embargo.

On top of this, in his first campaign at Everton, he ensured their survival in what was another successful season.

Therefore, if these feats can be built upon after his success at Coventry, he could be a solid appointment for Palace.

Who else is linked to the Crystal Palace job?

Currently, the favourite to take over from Glasner is Robbie Keane at 13/8.

The Ferencvaros coach has impressed in Europe, particularly in the Europa League this campaign.

Thomas Frank also remains heavily linked, with the former Tottenham manager now being just 3/1 to take over.

Sean Dyche and Gareth Southgate both remain in the running at 5/1.

A potential outsider is Roberto Martinez, who is 16/1 to take over at the end of the campaign.

The former Everton and Wigan boss is currently in charge of the Portugal National Team as he prepares for the upcoming 2026 World Cup this summer.
