N’Golo Kante could exit Chelsea after Tottenham transfer report – pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed N’Golo Kante would “bring a lot” to Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said fitness concerns may cause an impasse in extension talks with Chelsea.
The 31-year-old has not featured for the London club since the second game of the Premier League season.
The midfielder will also miss the World Cup after undergoing surgery.
The Frenchman’s current contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire in the summer.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato (10 October), the France international wants a long-term contract at the Bridge to take him into his late thirties.
Chelsea are said to be reluctant to offer the playmaker anything more than a two-year contract.
According to the same outlet (6 October), Kante’s agent has offered him to both Arsenal and Tottenham, the latter would see him reunite with former Chelsea gaffer Antonio Conte.
When asked if Graham Potter’s could let the midfielder leave in the summer, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I do not see how they can offer somebody a contract if they do not know how things are going to be.

“If they offer Kante a contract he will take it. He will not be sure what is going to happen. There will be a lot of ifs, buts and maybes.
“It will all be on the condition that he is fit and can play because he is such a talent. He would bring a lot to any team.“
