Nicolas Jackson reacts to teammate Marc Guiu as Chelsea exit looms

Nicolas Jackson reacted to his Chelsea teammate Marc Guiu on social media with the pair both linked with moves away from the club.

The transfer window is just a few days old, but the Blues have wasted no time in beginning to craft a squad ready for the Champions League.

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich, after Jackson, Guiu, and Christopher Nkunku struggled to impress at the striker position to varying degrees.

The Senegalese striker got off to a flying start last season, scoring six goals in his first nine Premier League appearances, but flamed out quickly, scoring just once in the league in 2025.

Guiu impressed in the Conference League, but appeared just three times in the league for a total of 71 minutes before he was ruled out with injury.

With the Blues preparing to take part in the new version of the Club World Cup, the Spaniard will likely be hoping for a chance to impress Enzo Maresca in the USA.

After a season that ended with both a top-five finish and victory in the Conference League final over Real Betis, Guiu took to Instagram to share some photos from his post-season break.

The post was liked by teammate Jackson, showing his support for the former Barcelona striker.

Football Insider Verdict

During negotiations over Delap’s move to West London, Ipswich inquired about a loan move for Guiu.

The two deals are not contingent on one another, but a move to Portman Road may well be a great chance for the Spaniard to bolster his development.

As for Chelsea’s starting number nine from last season, Delap joining Chelsea makes Jackson’s situation less clear.

The ex-Villareal man is a talented striker, but can be frustratingly inconsistent and is likely to fall behind the Englishman in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

What’s more, Chelsea may well make a move for another striker this summer, and if they do, it could well spell the end for Jackson in West London, even with the unsettled Nkunku expected to leave.
