Nicolas Raskin is likely to leave Rangers as Ibrox exit expected – Barry Ferguson
Nicolas Raskin is likely to leave Rangers in the upcoming transfer window, according to a club legend.
That’s what Barry Ferguson believes, with the Gers icon predicting the Belgium international’s exit from Ibrox in the summer.
While the Glaswegian outfit’s former interim manager would like to see the midfielder stay in Govan, he has his doubts about that prospect.
Football Insider has learned that the Ibrox hierarchy expect significant interest in Raskin in the coming months, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them accept a significant offer.
Andrew Cavenagh must rebuild the squad for Rohl to get the Light Blues back to the top, but the uncertainty around the future of one of their best players isn’t ideal.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 22 May, Ferguson said, “If you’re putting me on the spot, I would say Nico will probably be somewhere. In an ideal world, I would like to see him stay at Rangers, but I’ve got my doubt.”
Raskin has been included in Belgium’s 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup as the Red Devils gear up for another major tournament as the dark horses.

Rudi Garcia has taken a liking to the Gers midfielder this season and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him play a major role for his national side in the summer.
The 25-year-old could attract plenty of attention with his performances in Canada, Mexico and the USA, possibly leaving the Light Blues in a tough spot regarding his future.
Raskin opted to stay at Ibrox last summer despite an apparent falling out with Russell Martin, but the lack of silverware in Govan may prompt him to look for other opportunities sooner rather than later.
Danny Rohl has clear transfer agenda at Ibrox
Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers are ready to back Rohl with multiple signings after a disappointing end to the 2025-26 campaign.
With significant player turnover expected at Ibrox, the German manager should prioritise keeping the few quality players he can rely on in the current squad.
Raskin has been one such individual who hasn’t let the 37-year-old head coach down and the Gers should look to keep him for at least another year to maintain some stability in the team.
The Govan side can’t just expect to buy 11 new players in one window and hope Rohl can make things work immediately next season.
