‘No one comes close’, ‘Runs Scotland’ – Celtic fans rave about player display v Motherwell

Celtic fans on Twitter have paid tribute to Scott Brown after the Hoops skipper was involved in a huge talking point during the Bhoys’ match with Motherwell, which ended 0-0.

Brown, who has been a mainstay for the Bhoys this season with 46 appearances, was involved in the game’s most controversial incident, when Motherwell’s Cedric Kipre was sent-off for a kick out at Brown in the 41st minute.

The decision was soft but Kipre shouldn’t have given referee Craig Thomson the chance to make the decision in the first-pace.

Whilst Brown has been subjected to criticism for the incident by supporters of other teams, Hoops fans on Twitter have rushed to the defence of their captain.

Here are some of the best reactions to the Brown incident from Twitter:

Brown has been a huge player for the Hoops since joining the club from Hibernian in 2007 for a fee of £4.5million.

He has won 14 domestic honours in his time at the club including seven league titles, and seems only a few weeks away from winning another league title.

He captained the Bhoys to only the fourth domestic treble in their history last season, and is only two games away from leading the team to an unprecedented second consecutive domestic treble, a feat which has never been achieved in Scotland.
