‘No place like home’ – Nicolas Jackson reacts to Tosin Adabarabioyo message amid swap offer

Chelsea defender Tosin Adabarabioyo and striker Nicolas Jackson are the subject of an ambitious offer for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

The Blues want to offer the pair plus cash to Villa in exchange for Rogers, although Unai Emery’s side do not want to let the midfielder leave.

Villa are up against financial regulations this summer and may have to let some key players leave, but they do not want to lose Rogers as part of any deal.

Jackson has already held talks with Villa over a potential move as Emery wants to reunite with the 24-year-old whom he managed at Villarreal.

Tosin sends emotional message to “home”

Jackson and Adarabioyo are enjoying a break from football after Chelsea won the Club World Cup in America which ended just over two weeks ago.

The Blues beat Champions League winners 3-0 in the final to lift the trophy.

Adabrabioyo has been in Nigeria and posted a farewell message on Instagram where the 27-year-old said “thank you,” to the African nation.

The former Fulham defender then went on to saying “there’s truly no place like home,” which was liked by Jackson.

Tosin arrival not a priority amid Villa departures

Football Insider Verdict

Adabrabioyo and Jackson both face intense competition at Chelsea if they want to become regular starters under Enzo Maresca, so a move away from Stamford Bridge may best for both players.

Jackson especially has been showed little faith to lead Chelsea into the future, as Maresca has signed two strikers this summer and Joao Pedro looks to now become the Italian’s leading marksman.

Villa need a striker alongside Ollie Watkins, but having to lose Rogers as part of any deal will likely get rejected by Emery and the club hierarchy.

Since signing from Fulham Adarabioyo has found it difficult to break into the team, with the 27-year-old potentially leaving Chelsea after just one season.

Centre-back is a position Emery may want to strengthen, but that is not a priority for the Spaniard in this window.

A new goalkeeper may be required if Emi Martinez leaves for Manchester United or midfielders with Jacob Ramsey also potentially departing alongside Rogers.
