Norwich City: Medical expert predicts Adam Idah return date after ‘nasty’ post-surgery reveal

Adam Idah will return in time for the beginning of pre-season at Norwich City.

That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.

Idah picked up a meniscus knee injury in the Canaries’ 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace earlier this month (9 February).

As quoted by the Daily Mail last Friday (18 February), Norwich boss Dean Smith confirmed that the 21-year-old is “out for the season” following surgery.

But Dinnery forecasts that the Irishman will have a good run at pre-season as he looks to build his fitness ahead of 2022-23.

“It’s a nasty one for Adam Idah,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“The decision has been taken early by Norwich City for him to go under the knife.

“Typically, we’re looking at a three to four-month period. That may mean a possible return around June. That will tee up nicely.

“The league starts a little bit earlier and we might have players returning from pre-season a little bit earlier than normal.

“But he should really be in a position where he is able to be in with the group from the off.”

Idah has registered one goal and one assist in 21 appearances in all competitions this term.

Norwich are currently five points from safety at the bottom of the table ahead of their clash with Southampton tomorrow (25 February).
