‘That’ll be us out of Europe’ – Celtic fans blast Rodgers decision to start 26-year-old v Rosenborg
By Harvey Byrne
Celtic fans on Twitter have blasted Brendan Rodgers’ decision to start James Forrest upfront in the Champions League second-leg clash against Rosenborg on Wednesday evening.
The Hoops announced their starting line-up ahead of the clash in Norway via their official Twitter account, which saw each of Kristoffer Ajer, Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic drop out of the team for Erik Sviatchenko, Jonny Hayes and Callum McGregor following the 0-0 first leg draw at Parkhead.
Celtic fans know their team is in desperate need of a goal going into the encounter and an away strike could make all the difference.
But, for the second competitive clash in a row the Hoops have had to line-up without a natural striker with Moussa Dembele out injured, while Leigh Griffiths is only able to make the bench after an injury himself.
Now, it is believed that Forrest is leading the line judging from the lineup given and many Celtic fans have posted their disgust on social media at the news.
One fan went as far as to say that’s sealed their fate and knocked them out of Europe, while another stated that it wasn’t April 1.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Forrest, 26, managed eight goals in 46 matches in all competitions last season and he will be hoping to get on the score sheet on Wednesday evening.
