‘Not again’ – Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Dembele injury update

By Harvey Byrne

Tottenham fans have aired their worries on Twitter after the club confirmed that Mousa Dembele was still being assessed ahead of Sunday’s match with Arsenal.

The 29-year-old was brought off in Wednesday’s 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace at half time after clearly struggling with an injury problem in the first half.

However, the timing couldn’t have been worse from a Spurs perspective with the club announcing on it’s official Twitter account on Friday that their key player was a doubt ahead of Sunday’s White Hart Lane clash against fierce rivals Arsenal.

The update has understandably brought a sense of fear among the Tottenham fan base on social media with many keen to see their team line-up at full strength for such an important clash.

One fan put “not again” before wishing the Belgium international a fast recovery, while others were desperate for him to be fit for the Gunners encounter.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Dembele has starred in 25 of Tottenham’s 33 league matches this season, building a formidable partnership with summer signing Victor Wanyama in the centre of the park.

But, if he is to miss the weekend match with Arsenal then supporters will be eager for him to recover quickly with the club still challenging for the Premier League title.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs have been dealt a blow with this defender unlikely to be available again this season.
