Nottingham Forest agree to sign James Ward-Prowse – sources

Nottingham Forest have agreed to sign West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse, sources have told Football Insider.

A straight loan deal for the 29-year-old set-piece specialist is now expected to go through before the 11 pm August 30th cut-off.

Ward-Prowse is scheduled to undergo a Forest medical later on Friday.

West Ham are set to sign Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler from French giant PSG on loan with an option to buy and have deemed Ward-Prowse surplus to requirements.

The midfielder has slipped down the pecking order since new boss Julen Lopetegui was hired and talks with Forest are reaching a climax.

James Ward-Prowse to swap West Ham for Nottingham Forest

England international Ward-Prowse notched seven goals and 11 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions last term in his first season at West Ham.

He has a contract until 2027, however, the midfielder has managed just 16 minutes in the opening two games this season.

Consistent Premier League minutes are looking unlikely for Ward-Prowse under Lopetegui, especially since West Ham have already signed World Cup winner Guido Rodríguez from Real Betis.

One player who could be set to join Ward-Prowse at Forest is Ajax forward Brian Brobbey.

Football Insider revealed (August 27) that Nottingham Forest are ready to turn their attention to Brobbey after missing out on Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez.
