Nottingham Forest complete paperwork as three new arrivals head in

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointments of three new directors at the City Ground.

As per Companies House submissions on 13 and 14 October, Michael Dugher, Jonathan Owen and Simon Forster have been officially reappointed to the Forest board.

The trio previously served as club directors up until their positions were terminated at the City Ground in April following Evangelos Marinakis’s ownership change

Marinakis temporarily ceased control of Forest to ensure they wouldn’t breach Uefa’s multi-club ownership rules if they qualified for the same European competition as Olympiakos, who are also owned by the Greek businessman.

However, Forest eventually qualified for the Europa League and Olympiakos booked their spot in the Champions League, ensuring there would be no conflict of interest.

Nottingham Forest make multiple behind-the-scenes changes

Dugher, Owen and Forster have all now returned to the City Ground, just six months after stepping down from their positions.

Alongside the trio, Forest’s board is also made up of co-owner Sokratis Kominakis and chairman Nicholas Randall KC.

Randall was reappointed as Forest’s chairman in October 2024 following Tom Cartledge’s decision to step down after just over a year in the role.

There have been several other changes to the executive team at the City Ground over the past year.

Lina Souloukou was appointed as the club’s new CEO in January, while Edu Gaspar has been brought in as global head of football after leaving Arsenal last year.

Edu is looking to add to Marinakis’s multi-club model, with John Textor-owned Botafogo believed to be in his sights.

Nottingham Forest make Ange Postecoglou sack decision

It’s been a turbulent time for Forest on the pitch after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked just three games into the new season.

Ange Postecoglou was appointed as Nuno’s replacement, but he has failed to win any of his opening seven games in charge.

Football Insider revealed on 6 October Postecoglou will be given time by Forest’s hierarchy, who are hopeful he can turn things around.

However, Marinakis has made it clear he won’t hesitate to sack the Australian manager if results don’t improve at the City Ground.

Forest currently sit 17th in the Premier League table after picking up five points from their opening seven games of the season.
