Nottingham Forest eye Ryan Yates upgrade as Davide Frattesi closes in on transfer

Nottingham Forest are eyeing multiple reinforcements this summer as they look to avoid another relegation battle for the 2026-27 campaign.

Vitor Pereira is reporting eyeing multiple targets, with one of the most recurring names being Davide Frattesi.

The Inter Milan midfielder appears to be on his way out of the Italian side this summer after winning the Serie A this campaign.

Linterista on 2 June once again reiterated that Forest are interested in the 26-year-old, and could soon ignite talks amid talks that the midfielder is ready to explore a new experience.

Many of Frattesi’s stats are stunning, and the midfielder could well prove to be a substantial upgrade on Ryan Yaes.

Davide Frattesi has excellent attacking stats

Yates is no doubt a modern-day Forest icon. However, he is now being left behind as the club’s quality continues to grow on the pitch.

This was on show late in the 2025-26 campaign, with Pereira rarely giving him a start.

Frattesi is better than Yates in many stats

Now, if Forest are able to bring in Frattesi, he could provide an extra attacking boost from midfield and be a real upgrade on Yates.

According to Fotmob on 1 June, the Inter star averaged, a 0.35 xG, 2.60 shots, and 0.65 shots on target in the Serie A per 90 minutes this season.

On top of this, he is also an astute dribbler and can be effective in the defensive half of the pitch.

Many of his stats, especially attacking-wise, are far better than Yates’ and if Forest can get the deal over the line, Frattesi would add significant quality to Forest’s squad.

Who else are Nottingham Forest targeting this summer?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Forest are lining up a deal for Galatasaray right-back Roland Sallai.

The Reds will be well-backed by owner Evangelos Marinakis once again, and they already have an “ambitious” move for the 29-year-old on their radar ahead of next term.

Galatasaray are not set to lose their star without a fight, and are prepared to do everything they can to keep hold of the defender.

This is a task that Forest will need to overcome if they want to sign the Hungarian international as they look to avoid another relegation battle and firmly establish themselves as a Premier League side next season.
