Nottingham Forest fans explode at Eddie Nketiah after shock reveal

Nottingham Forest fans are demanding the club walk away from a move to sign Eddie Nketiah as a result of the striker’s wage demands.

Reports claimed the Arsenal man will ask for any club to match his £120,000 per week wages should he leave the Emirates.

This would make him the highest-paid player at the City Ground – higher than the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White – despite a relative lack of experience and game time.

Football Insider revealed on 20 August that Forest have made a detailed proposal to the striker to convince him to make the move before the transfer deadline.

Sources say talks are advancing with Arsenal after an initial £25million bid was rejected, with the Gunners holding out for a minimum of £30million.

However, fans are now calling for the club to pull out of talks after learning his demands.

Nottingham Forest told to walk away from Eddie Nketiah deal

Forest have been targeting a new striker throughout the summer window amid questions surrounding Chris Wood’s consistency and Taiwo Awoniyi’s availability.

Nketiah has emerged as a front-runner as the club are keen to have a homegrown core, with the Gunners man targeted to spearhead a front line including Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White.

However, fans have taken to social media in reaction to the news as the Arsenal striker has been labelled “greedy” and “lazy” amid questions over his attitude.
