Nottingham Forest fans lash out at ‘disgraceful’ FA after new charge

Nottingham Forest fans have raged at the FA after they were charged with misconduct in relation to crowd control in their game against Liverpool.

The clash at the City Ground on 2 March, which Liverpool won 1-0 in the 99th minute, was overshadowed by a refereeing error from Paul Tierney, leaving the atmosphere hostile and volatile.

Almost three months later, on 31 May, the FA announced the charge, bringing back memories of the incident and the anger of the supporters.

This comes after several charges against Forest this season, with the club previously handed a four-point deduction for breaches of financial rules.

The error in question saw Liverpool handed the ball after Ibrahima Konate was treated for a head injury, despite the Forest player having been in possession.

Forest coach Steven Reid was also left incensed and was handed a red card for his reaction.

As a result of the multiple charges towards Forest this season, the FA have been labelled “corrupt” and “disgraceful” as questions over refereeing competency emerged once more.
