Nottingham Forest fans stunned as ‘£100m’ Gibbs-White bid readied

Nottingham Forest fans have been left stunned after Man City were linked with a move to sign Morgan Gibbs-White in January.

The 24-year-old has starred for Forest in the Premier League and was recently handed his first England cap by interim boss Lee Carsley.

Now, he is attracting the interest of the current title holders, who have been assessing their options ahead of a bid to sign a new attacking midfielder.

City had been interested in the likes of Crystal Palace’s Ebere Eze and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes during the summer, while Football Insider revealed they are now in pole position to sign Jamal Musiala.

There has also been intense speculation about the long-term future of Kevin de Bruyne and Matheus Nunes, who had attracted interest during the transfer window.

Now, it appears Pep Guardiola’s side have turned their attention to Gibbs-White to strengthen their midfield thanks to his stellar performances for Forest.

However, supporters at the City Ground are insisting Man City will have to pay at least £100million to tempt their star man away.

Man City considering move to sign Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White

Since joining Forest for £25million in 2022, Gibbs-White has become a firm fans’ favourite at the City Ground and has shown a huge improvement in his performances.

So far this season, he has scored one goal in four appearances while earning his first international call-up, and he remains a crucial member of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

After news of Man City’s interest broke on social media, many Forest supporters were stunned, and began listing the prices they would accept from City.

Others, meanwhile, advised the midfielder against the move, comparing it to similar deals involving Kalvin Phillips and Jack Grealish.

In other news, Stefan Borson has dropped a new Man City points deduction verdict.
