Nottingham Forest fans stunned by Gibbs-White twist after injury blow

Nottingham Forest fans are expecting to see Morgan Gibbs-White in the starting lineup for England after injury news emerged.

Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins have all left the squad due to ongoing injury issues, making space for the Forest man to step into the team.

Both Foden and Palmer had been tipped to occupy the number-ten role in Lee Carsley’s side, but their absence leaves just Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze as potential options.

The likes of Conor Gallagher, Angel Gomes and Jack Grealish could also fill in there – but have been used elsewhere for both their clubs and in previous England appearances.

Forest supporters were stunned when Gibbs-White was named in Carsley’s first England squad as they flooded social media with praise for the midfielder.

Now, with his chances of playing note-worthy game time boosted, the excitement at the City Ground is continuing to grow.
