Nottingham Forest hit by new injury blow, Sean Dyche reveals extent of star man’s issues

Nottingham Forest have settled into a good run of form under Sean Dyche but a big injury blow has threatened to derail their progress.

Dyche replaced Ange Postecoglou at the City Ground last month and has dragged his side out of the relegation zone and up to 16th in the Premier League table since then.

After beating Leeds United 3-1 before the international break, Nottingham Forest secured a shock 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield to make it two wins on the bounce.

The Tricky Trees are now unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions ahead of a clash with Swedish side Malmö in the Europa League on Thursday (27 November).

Nottingham Forest talisman ruled out of Malmo clash

After failing to impress under the control Postecoglou, Morgan Gibbs-White has returned to form following the arrival of Dyche.

The 25-year-old found the back of the net against both Liverpool and Leeds United, and has now scored four goals in his last six games.

However, speaking in his pre-match press conference before the Malmö game, Dyche revealed that Gibbs-White would be absent for Forest’s upcoming Europa League clash.

The England international was absent from training on Wednesday (26 November) morning, and Dyche has now confirmed that he is struggling with an issue.

While the former Everton boss didn’t divulge details about Gibbs-White’s injury, he is hopeful that the midfielder will make a quick recovery.

Nottingham Forest face interest in star player

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest could face issues in the transfer market as well, with Chelsea reportedly plotting a move to sign Murillo.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the 23-year-old is at the top of Enzo Maresca‘s list of defensive targets.

Football Insider revealed in September that Chelsea are working to sign a new centre-back, with the position becoming a priority due to their leaky back line.

Meanwhile, Murillo has returned to top form at Nottingham Forest since the appointment of Dyche and starred in their win over Liverpool.
