Nottingham Forest line up stunning late triple transfer swoop – report

By Harry Sykes

Nottingham Forest have lined up a stunning triple transfer swoop in the final three days of the winter window, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Championship strugglers have placed Watford duo Jerome Sinclair and Ben Watson, and Lens centre-back Abdoul Ba on their wanted list.

It is said that Forest are trying to hijack second-tier rivals Blackburn’s bid for Ba, a 6ft 7in defender who has been on the fringes of Ligue 2 side Lens this season.

The 22-year-old is keen to move to England and is seemingly poised to sign for Blackburn but Forest have made a late move for the defender as they aim to win the race for his signature.

Striker Sinclair and midfielder Watson are also being eyed by the manager-less east Midlands club after they struggled for chances in Walter Mazzarri’s squad in the opening half of the campaign.

Forest want to reinforce their squad as they prepare for a relegation battle in the second half of the campaign.

Forest are 19th in the league and just five points above the drop zone after collecting  just eight wins from their opening 28 Championship games this season, a run of form that cost Philippe Montanier his job earlier this month.

The club are aiming to entice Nigel Clough from Burton to be their new manager.

In other Nottingham Forest transfer news, the club have reportedly made the first move in the hunt for an exciting Premier League striker.
