Nottingham Forest must accept price-cut deal for Arnaud Kalimuendo after exit update

Nottingham Forest could offload Arnaud Kalimuendo this summer transfer window, just a year after signing the attacker.

The 24-year-old made the move to the City Ground last summer with high expectations, but was unable to hit these heights.

For the Tricky Trees, he was unable to score a single goal in the Premier League before he was sent out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter window.

Now, BILD on 25 May has reported that the German club cannot afford the £23.39million option to buy the striker.

Yet, this should not sway Forest, who should do everything to sell Kalimuendo after his failed move to the East Midlands.

Nottingham Forest need to sell Arnaud Kalimuendo

The report states that Frankfurt still want to sign Kalimuendo this summer, but for a cut price.

Negotiations over a potential fee are underway, with Frankfurt not prepared to go higher than £17.33m.

While this will be a blow for Forest, it is simply an offer they cannot afford to refuse.

It is clear that Kalimuendo will never be able to make an impact at the City Ground, and holding on to him with the hope of getting a bigger fee could decrease his value further.

On top of this, an early sale could allow the funds to be quickly directed elsewhere to allow the club to secure a potential bargain.

Therefore, Forest should not haggle over the fee and simply get Kalimuendo out of the club as soon as possible.

Who else could leave Nottingham Forest this summer?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Nottingham Forest will consider Dan Ndoye’s future if they receive a big offer.

The Reds are reluctant to sell the winger despite a difficult first season in the Premier League.

Going into the summer, strong interest in Italy is building once again, with Roma keen to strike a deal for him.

Ndoye has endured injury problems after moving to the City Ground from Bologna last year, but the interest from Italy is not expected to die down any time soon.

However, it remains to be seen if Forest will give in to the interest and sell Ndoye over the upcoming months as they prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
