Nottingham Forest ownership change confirmed after Evangelos Marinakis move
Nottingham Forest have confirmed Evangelos Marinakis has taken a step back at the City Ground, sources have told Football Insider.
A Companies House submission on Wednesday (30 April) revealed the cessation of the Greek businessman as a person with significant control in Forest’s parent company, NF Football Investments Limited.
Pittville One Limited, which was incorporated in February, has now been officially listed as a person with significant control.
It is understood the change in ownership at the City Ground is in preparation for Forest’s likely qualification for European football.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and Marinakis-owned Olympiacos could both be competing in the Champions League next season, with Uefa’s rules prohibiting clubs from being controlled by the same owners or directors from competing in the same competition.
Forest currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, but they have a game in hand over the sides around them.
Meanwhile, Olympiacos are on course to claim the Greek Super League title after building up a healthy lead over second-place Panathinaikos.

Nottingham Forest owner reinstated after boardroom reshuffle
There have been several more changes confirmed at the City Ground since Marinakis officially relinquished control.
Co-owner Sokratis Kominakis, who joined Marinakis’s takeover bid in 2017, has now been reinstated as a director after stepping down in February.
Matthew Shayle, Matthew Cain and Timothy Osborne have also been appointed as Forest directors in the past few hours.
However, Michael Dugher, Simon Forster and Jonathan Owen have seen their roles as directors terminated as part of the latest boardroom reshuffle.
The board at the City Ground now comprises Kominakis, Shayle, Cain, Osborne and chairman Nicholas Randall KC.

James McAtee could quit Man City after Nottingham Forest swoop
Alongside the boardroom changes, Forest are looking to strengthen their squad this summer in preparation for European football.
Football Insider revealed on 29 April James McAtee is considering leaving Man City following interest from Forest.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with Nuno’s side, while other Premier League clubs are also monitoring his situation at the Etihad.
It is believed McAtee, who has registered seven goals in 25 appearances this season, wants to kickstart his career and may have to agree a move elsewhere to make that happen.
The midfielder’s contract is set to expire in June 2026 and Man City are keen to tie him down to a new deal to protect his value.
