‘Nottingham Forest target eight new signings as Nuno eyes summer overhaul’

Nottingham Forest are set for a busy summer transfer window, as they look to improve on what has been a superb 2024/25 campaign.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side still have faint hopes of Champions League football next season, as they go into their final day clash with Chelsea.

Forest must beat the Blues, and hope that at least one other result goes in their favour, if they want to sneak into the top five.

With the Champions League bringing in an estimated £70million for the clubs involved, it would give Forest the funds to spend on a summer overhaul.

Forest set for spending spree

Forest owner Evanglos Marinakis has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently, after he stormed down onto the pitch to confront Nuno after a draw against Leicester.

However, Marinakis is not afraid to splash the cash, and will be motivated to put his hands into his pockets again this summer, after the Nottingham-based side’s superb league performances.

The Athletic’s (May 23) Paul Taylor has reported that Forest would need five or six additions in the transfer window, and potentially up to eight if they manage to secure Champions League football for next season.

Taylor added that Forest currently lack strength in depth, and bringing in a goalkeeper, left-back, and one or two forwards would be the priority.

Also, if Morgan Gibbs-White is snapped up by Manchester City, then they would have to sign someone to fill that hole as well.

Forest have to continue spending

Football Insider Verdict

It doesn’t seem long ago that the world was laughing at Nottingham Forest, because of their ridiculous squad size and huge number of players coming in and out of the club.

However, this season they have been magnificent, and despite dropping off in recent weeks, are set for European football.

However, at their newfound heights, Forest will have to keep spending money to keep up with the clubs around them.

They will also need to ensure that they keep hold of at least some of their best players, even if they lose the likes of Gibbs-White.

Football Insider exclusively revealed last month (17 April) that Nottingham Forest are in contract talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi, with Tottenham and Manchester United both interested in the winger.
