Nottingham Forest twist: Pundit changes mind on Dean Henderson after re-analysing controversial footage

Alan Hutton has question the decision to award a penalty against Dean Henderson as Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Brentford on Saturday (5 November).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender who was at the game said he initially thought the challenge was a penalty but admitted that the decision could have gone either way.

As shown on Sky Sports (5 November), the Bees were awarded a spot-kick when Henderson brought down Yoanne Wissa.

Bryan Mbeumo slotted home the spot kick and the game finished 2-2.

Hutton said he initially agreed with the onfield decision.

My original thought is that it was a penalty,” he told Football Insider.

I think it is a great through ball, he is coming at high speed and moves to the side. Dean Henderson actually puts his arm out and he tries to pull it back but there is a little bit of contact. The question is was it enough to put him over?

I might think it is, someone else might think it is not. It just depends on the day how you view it.

I thought one of the angles looked enough to be a penalty but the other angle showed probably not, it just depends on the day how the referee feels. I did on the day think it was a penalty but it was harsh.
