Nottingham Forest well placed to sell Igor Jesus for significant profit
Igor Jesus could return to Brazil after just one season at Premier League club Nottingham Forest.
Jesus joined Nottingham Forest from Botafogo last summer in a deal worth £10million, but has scored just two Premier League goals for the club this season.
According to Brazilian journalist Julio Miguel Neto, Flamengo are interested in potentially striking a deal for Jesus in the summer transfer window.
Flamengo value Jesus at £17million, with the 24-year-old potentially allowed to depart if Nottingham Forest are relegated from the Premier League.
Will Igor Jesus start Vitor Pereira’s first game in charge?
Nottingham Forest are currently just three points above the Premier League drop zone, and have just appointed former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira as their new manager for the final 12 games of the season.
Jesus was a regular starter under former boss Sean Dyche, although Lorenzo Lucca was preferred for the draw with Wolves last time out.
Whilst the striker has struggled in the Premier League, the Brazilian has scored six goals in six games in the Europa League as Nottingham Forest progressed to the knockout stages of the competition.
It remains to be seen whether Pereira turns to Jesus in his first game in charge of Nottingham Forest against Fenerbahce in the Europa League, before a home league game against Liverpool.
Fellow strikers Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi will both be unavailable due to injuries, limiting Pereira’s options up-front.

Nottingham Forest braced for approach for star
Jesus could be one of the key players under Pereira until the end of the season, whilst the 57-year-old will also rely on defensive stalwart Murillo.
However, there is also speculation surrounding his future at the City Ground beyond the end of this season.
Chelsea and Liverpool have both been linked with the Brazilian, with the London club currently holding the edge over their Premier League rivals.

Nottingham Forest’s potential relegation to the Championship could decide his future, with the 23-year-old not wanting to play in the second tier.
It would cost Chelsea up to £50m to sign Murillo, but that valuation could decrease if they suffer relegation.
Murillo joined Nottingham Forest for around £15m in 2023, meaning the club could secure a sizeable profit on the defender.
