Oliver Glasner loses support at Nottingham Forest - 'It's the beginning of the end'
Oliver Glasner is losing support from large sections of the supporters at the City Ground as Nottingham Forest weigh up his future.
Despite Forest having planned to back a long-term project with the former Crystal Palace boss at the helm, early-season concerns mean he could face the sack already.
Following a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal last time out, Glasner's side have now failed to score in five games at the City Ground this season, and the fans are becoming restless.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown warned Football Insider that Glasner is losing the support of the fans and could lose the backing of the board if results don't improve.
While there are positives to be taken from games this season including those against Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Liverpool, they need to start winning games quickly.
That especially applies to their games at the City Ground, where Glasner now has work to do to regain the backing of the grows as pressure grows on his position at Nottingham Forest.
Could Nottingham Forest sack Oliver Glasner?
Brown warned Football Insider on 12 October that Glasner is coming under increasing pressure at Nottingham Forest and may be fighting for his job in the near future.
Controversial owner Evangelos Marinakis is notoriously trigger-happy, with Forest having been through five managers in the last year, and he is determined to see an upturn in results.
With the crowd now primed to turn against Glasner as a result of his side's lack of goalscoring prowess, there a growing concerns he may not have long left to impress.
"Nottingham Forest's home form is going to be a big problem for Oliver Glasner," Brown told Football Insider.
"Forest have been keen to back him and support him, but it's been a very slow start, and you're starting to see fans expressing their frustrations towards him now.
"Home form is important whichever club you're at, so to go five games without a goal in front of those fans this season, it's obviously going to lead to some unhappiness.
"When the fans start to turn, it can be the beginning of the end, so results really need to improve in the near future so he can get them back on his side.
"If he loses the support of the crowd, it won't take long until the owner there is tempted to make a decision, because other managers have been sacked for less."
Why are Nottingham Forest still backing Glasner?
Despite the growing frustrations surrounding what has been a difficult start to the new season, Nottingham Forest remain in support of Glasner as things stand.
The boss has won just one of the eight games he has taken charge of since his surprise appointment in the summer, leading to concerns about his future in the role.
However, Football Insider revealed on 18 October that Nottingham Forest will use Glasner's success at Crystal Palace as reason to be optimistic with regard to their long-term plans.
After the success he enjoyed at Selhurst Park where they won three trophies in two seasons, the Forest board are prepaered to be patient and believe things will come good.
During his spell as Crystal Palace manager, the Eagles also endured difficult spells, and won just two of their first ten games of the 2024-25 season before going on to win the FA Cup.
