Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga was in disbelief over footage of Bruno Fernandes as Man United drew 1-1 with Arsenal on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim has been under heavy fire at Man United since his arrival, with the Red Devils falling to 14th in the Premier League table, but he earned some respect back on 9 March.
Despite Arsenal’s dominance at Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a sensational free-kick, though Keith Hackett was amazed by Anthony Taylor’s inability to set the Arsenal wall.
The Gunners managed to claw one goal back through Declan Rice, sweeping home Jurrien Timber’s pass, but United were able to hold out for the draw and hand Mikel Arteta’s side a huge blow.

It was Fernandes’ free-kick effort which left Elanga amazed, posting a clip of the goal on Instagram [9 March], with the caption: “Fodase,” and an exploding head emoji.
The Portuguese word is often used in amazement, and that is exactly how the Forest star felt after watching his former teammate fire past David Raya from 25 yards out.

Chris Sutton has already stated that Man United must sell their “spoiled kids” before looking at Fernandes because, for all of his tantrums on the pitch, he is the best player currently in the squad.
With 275 appearances for the Red Devils since 2020, it is difficult to see the 30-year-old playing anywhere else unless he was to move to the MLS or Saudi Arabia.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Yellow cards | Red cards |
Bruno Fernandes | 275 | 91 | 79 | 49 | 3 |
Of course, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting drama at Man United makes it all the more difficult to invest heavily in the summer transfer window but that is exactly what is needed to make his tenure work.
Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Mason Mount are all seen as deadweight at Old Trafford, leaving the club with plenty of business to do during the transfer window.
