Nuno saluted as 'brilliant' Tottenham star 'shuts people up' after Ndombele latest
Noel Whelan has lavished praise on Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo for reintegrating “brilliant” midfielder Tanguy Ndombele into the side.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 24-year-old has “shut a few people up” with his displays so far this season.
Ndombele looked revitalised yet again in an attacking midfield role against Newcastle (October 17th) and was a threat throughout – taking five shots, completing 92.4% of his passes, and touching the ball 98 times – the second-most of any player in the game (WhoScored).
The midfielder also found the net in the 18th minute, taking his tally to two from six appearances this season.
Football Insider revealed on August 19th that Ndombele had his heart set on exiting Tottenham during the summer window.
The former Lyon man failed to make a single pre-season appearance after being frozen out by Espirito Santo.

Whelan believes the ex-Wolves manager deserves “credit” for his man-management of Ndombele.
“I thought he was brilliant against Newcastle,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“Even when he went in at the start of the season asking to leave the club, the manager kept the faith in him.
“He’s fought back and shut a few people up with his performances.
“He has shown a good attitude, fight and desire – he wants to help the team.
“Credit has to go to the manager for the way he’s managed him as well, keeping him happy and progressing with Tottenham.
“It was a quality 90 minutes and a really well-taken goal. He could be a real key player for them this season.
“It was never about his ability. The questions were about his work rate and attitude, and now he’s bringing that into his game too.”
