Odds slashed: Oliver Glasner increasingly likely to become Man United manager after shortlist reveal

Oliver Glasner’s odds to become the next Man United manager have once again been slashed.

The current Crystal Palace boss is now just 7/1 to take the position at the end of the season, making him the second favourite.

Oddschecker on 28 February have confirmed that these odds have been slashed in the latest twist in the Red Devils’ managerial hunt.

Glasner is set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season when his contract expires and has been linked to numerous clubs.

Oliver Glasner continues to be linked to Man United

Glasner’s links to Man United have persisted for weeks.

This is despite Michael Carrick doing a wonderful job at Old Trafford, with the manager on track to guide them to the Champions League.

Football Insider also revealed this week that Glasner was no more than an outsider for the role at Man United, with more high-profile names such as Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique higher in the shortlist.

The Palace manager has been under pressure in recent weeks after going on a run of one win in 15 matches in all competitions.

However, victories over Wolves and Zrinjski Mostar have seen sack talk diminish over recent days.

Who else is linked to the Man United job?

As it stands, Michael Carrick is the heavy favourite to remain the Man United manager for next season.

At 4/6, he is the odds-on favourite for the role, which will come as little surprise to many supporters, with Carrick yet to lose a game.

Following this, Nagelsmann and Roberto De Zerbi are both still in contention at 12/1.

The former is the current German National Team manager as he prepares to lead his nation to the 2026 World Cup.

In comparison, De Zerbi is now a free agent after he left Marseille earlier this campaign, after their elimination from the Champions League was followed up with a 5-0 defeat to PSG.

A potential outsider remains Gareth Southgate at 16/1. The former England National Team manager has been linked to Man United for months as he looks to find his way back into the dugout.

However, it remains to be seen who the Red Devils will appoint as they look to return to their former glory days.
