Odds slashed on Liverpool sacking Arne Slot, latest on Jurgen Klopp replacing him

Arne Slot’s job is in more danger than ever before following Liverpool’s drab draw with Sunderland on Wednesday night.

Chemsdine Talbi’s deflected effort opened the scoring just after the hour mark at Anfield, with the leveller notched nine minutes from time as Nordi Mukiele diverted Florian Wirtz‘s shot into the net.

Numerous Liverpool players are believed to be unhappy with Slot right now as they linger in mid-table just mere months on from their Premier League title triumph.

Football Insider revealed last week that Slot retains the backing of Liverpool chiefs, but their performances have not been up to standard at all so far and are not showing clear signs of improvement anytime soon.

There have been a number of managers sacked in the top-flight already this season, and the Dutchman could well be next following a new development.

Arne Slot’s sack odds slashed in wake of Sunderland draw

Liverpool failed to assert themselves at home against a newly-promoted side on Wednesday night, even though they had beaten West Ham in their previous outing.

That triumph in East London is their sole victory in the last five games, while they have won just two league matches from their previous nine.

The likes of Tottenham boss Thomas Frank and Leeds manager Daniel Farke are under pressure at their respective clubs right now, but the odds have been slashed on Slot to be the next Premier League manager sacked after Wednesday’s result.

He is now as short as 6/4 to be the next boss relieved of his duties, and that eventuality certainly seems likely considering their current position and form right now.

Jurgen Klopp unlikely to make Liverpool return despite leading race with bookmakers

Liverpool moved on pretty quickly from legendary boss Jurgen Klopp last term as Slot’s side were rampant on their way to the Premier League title.

Klopp is now the Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull as he takes time out of management, but that has not stopped him being linked with a shock return to Anfield amid uncertainty around the Dutchman’s position.

He is the bookies’ favourite to be the next permanent Reds manager, with odds as short as 2/1 available right now, but Football Insider have revealed that Klopp is not being considered by FSG to take over anytime soon.

Xabi Alonso is a close second-favourite to replace Slot, despite currently being in charge of Real Madrid, with Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner both close behind in the odds.
