Two senior players axed: Celtic best possible XI v Motherwell
GOALKEEPER AND DEFENCE
Scott Bain (Goalkeeper) – Should keep his place in the team following an excellent display against Rangers, in fact he should be the man in goals for the Hoops until Craig Gordon returns from his knee injury
Mikael Lustig (Right-back) – Should replace the suspended Jozo Simunovic, the Swede himself was suspended for the win at Ibrox but should return to the side as the Hoops should revert to four at the back
Kristoffer Ajer (Centre-back) – Was the Bhoys’ best defender in the win over Rangers, he should have a long and successful career with the Hoops if he continues on the upward trajectory he is currently on
Jack Hendry (Centre-back) – Should replace Dedryck Boyata, the recent signing from Dundee showed enough in his appearance at Ibrox to demonstrate that he should start over the Belgian who struggled badly against Rangers. Boyata is the first of senior players who should be axed.
Kieran Tierney (Left-back) – Should have done better with Rangers’ second goal in the Old Firm derby, but despite that he should keep his place in the side as he offers so much to it in attack and defence
