Oliver Glasner avoids major injury blow as Crystal Palace star returns to training ahead of Strasbourg clash
Oliver Glasner can breathe a sigh of relief ahead of Crystal Palace’s Europa Conference League clash against Strasbourg.
Palace beat Wolves 2-0 after a difficult 90 minutes at Molineux Stadium, with the three points moving them into fifth in the Premier League table, just one point outside the Champions League spots.
The Eagles have been in brilliant form, with Oliver Glasner being linked with replacing Arne Slot, who remains under pressure at Liverpool, but his focus will be on Europe right now.
Despite a starting back-three of Marc Guehi, Maxence Lacroix, and Chris Richards, Glasner was forced to make a change when the latter trudged off the pitch with an apparent injury.
However, a new update on the USA international has come to light.

Chris Richard injury update emerges ahead of Strasbourg clash
There were fears that the 25-year-old would be unavailable for a key trip to France on Wednesday, 26 November, but fans can now relax ahead of the European clash.
Taking to X (26 November) with an update on the trusted centre-back, Sky Sports’ James Savundra wrote: “Chris Richards involved in Crystal Palace full training ahead of Strasbourg.
“The USA defender was subbed off at Wolves, but Oliver Glasner was unconcerned. He had been managing a calf issue, but seemingly came off with cramp.”
Richards has started all 12 of Palace’s Premier League matches so far this season, with another two starts in the Europa Conference League to his name, becoming an integral part of the squad.
Crystal Palace need more achievements in 2025-26
Several high-profile figures at Selhurst Park, including the manager, are being linked with moves away next summer, with Palace already accepting that Guehi will leave at the end of his contract.
Jean-Philippe Mateta could be in his final season with the Eagles, so could Daniel Munoz and Adam Wharton, but sealing Champions League football might be enough to persuade some to stay.
Glasner is working wonders at Selhurst Park, which means further European success could be possible, but that could also end up working against the club due to interest from elsewhere.
He had already been linked with the Tottenham job before Thomas Frank‘s arrival, and that continues to be a possible destination due to the rumours emerging in North London.
