‘Oliver Glasner has held private talks at Crystal Palace’ and is now expected to quit
Oliver Glasner has held talks behind the scenes with the Crystal Palace hierarchy about transfer plans but has been left frustrated by their stance.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Glasner‘s public outburst has come after a lack of progress in internal discussions.
Crystal Palace lost 2-1 to Man United last weekend, but the major talking point came following the game as the boss ranted the club have let him and his players down.
The Eagles made a net profit during the summer, despite hopes they would look to build and strengthen after winning the FA Cup vs Man City and qualifying for Europe.
As a result, Brown warned Football Insider on 1 December that Glasner could walk away from Crystal Palace when his contract expires due to the lack of ambition.

Oliver Glasner could leave Crystal Palace amid frustrations
Football Insider first revealed in August that Glasner was left frustrated at Crystal Palace as a result of their slow start to the summer transfer window.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, insisted that the boss has continually been let down by the hierarchy at Palace.
“This isn’t something that’s come out of the blue,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s directly criticising the owners and directors in public, and that’s never a good sign, so as things stand I expect he’s going to walk away.
“He’s clearly unhappy with the way things have gone and he doesn’t feel that the club are doing what they should be going to progress.
“From what I’m told, this is something that’s been going on for a while in terms of him speaking to the board and asking for more backing, especially after their success in the FA Cup last season.
“It’s something he will have brought up behind the scenes, and something he’s been talking to the chairman about, but he doesn’t feel he’s had that backing.
“In my experience, if a manager is coming out and saying stuff like this, it’s because he’s spoken about it behind the scenes and been given an answer he didn’t like.
“Whether it’s that he won’t get many players in when the January window opens, that’s something only he will know, but it’s not a new concern.
“It’s a long-running thing at Palace, maybe if they spend big in January the situation could change, but his comments seem like that might not be the case.”
Crystal Palace still hope to keep Glasner
Football Insider revealed in September that Palace will do everything in their power to keep Glasner at Selhurst Park despite reports of tension behind the scenes.
Palace chairman Steve Parish confirmed that early stages of contract talks have taken place, but explained their visions need to be aligned to reach an agreement. [talkSPORT]
However, Football Insider revealed on 30 September that Crystal Palace must match Glasner’s ambitions if they want him to agree a new contract.

Brown told Football Insider on 25 September that Crystal Palace are making plans to keep Glasner and hope they can extend his stay in South London.
However, there is a growing feeling that their attempts may be in vain given their historic lack of backing and the manager feeling the need to address the concerns publicly.
