Oliver Glasner surely edges closer to being Tottenham manager after bombshell
Oliver Glasner may be destined to step into the Tottenham dugout in the coming weeks as his Crystal Palace tenure looks set to go up in flames.
The Eagles have been on the slide of late after failing to win any of their last 10 games in all competitions, and that has left them rooted in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Crystal Palace are set to lose captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City ahead of his contract expiring in the summer, and their manager has also been in a similar situation in recent months.
Glasner confirmed earlier this week that he will leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, but the weekend’s events now appear to have drastically altered the current picture.

Oliver Glasner surely angling for Tottenham job with Crystal Palace comments
Glasner sent shockwaves out of Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, as he dropped a huge bombshell during his post-match interview after his team were beaten 2-1 away at Sunderland.
The Austrian accused the club hierarchy of “abandoning” him and the team with the sale of Guehi prior to his contract expiring, and suggested that he feels no support from those above him in the hierarchy.
Glasner’s comments were very reminiscent of those of Enzo Maresca and Ruben Amorim, who both recently lost their jobs after publicly calling out their respective boards.
The 51-year-old knows that he has no future at Palace, and with that in mind, the timing of his comments surely points towards a desperate attempt to get himself freed up and available to take a job elsewhere.
Football Insider recently revealed that Tottenham were giving Thomas Frank two games to save his job, and with those two outings having since resulted in defeats, he is surely on the brink of being shown the door.

Glasner has been heavily linked with a switch to North London in recent months, and it is highly likely that it is too much of a coincidence for him to have chosen to speak out on the same weekend as Frank’s position becomes even more perilous.
Spurs to shelve interim plans after Glasner developments
Football Insider revealed last week that Tottenham would consider appointing an interim boss if they sacked Frank, with a managerial stopgap potentially incoming until the end of the season.
However, the chances of that have surely diminished now that Glasner appears to have pressed the self-destruct button on the other side of the capital.
An interim appointment would have potentially allowed Spurs to target the likes of Glasner and Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola as free agents in the summer, but if the board are keen on the Palace man, then there may no longer be any need.
It seems highly unlikely that he can survive this fall-out at Selhurst Park, especially considering that matters on the pitch haven’t been going smoothly of late either.
