Ollie Watkins and Neal Maupay react to Brentford ace Ethan Pinnock’s message
Ethan Pinnock caught the attention of his former teammates on social media following the Brentford star’s international performances.
The 31-year-old, who has been a key player for Thomas Frank at the Gtech Community Stadium, starred in back-to-back Jamaica victories over Saint Vincent and The Grenadines to qualify for the Gold Cup.
Frank, who has been tipped to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, will be extremely relieved to see one of his most consistent players return to England unharmed ahead of the end-of-season run-in.
Alongside Nathan Collins, the Bees have experienced a rollercoaster of a campaign, and with European football still a possibility, it is all to fight for in the Premier League over the coming weeks.

Taking to Instagram [27 March], Pinnock wrote: “Gold Cup qualification. Pleasure as always,” with a Jamaica and salute emojis.
His former teammates, Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins and controversial figure Neal Maupay, both liked the post while Amari Bell and Jobi McAnuff congratulated him in the comments.
Thomas Frank is pushing Brentford for greatness this season
Football Insider verdict
With the Bees currently sitting 11th in the Premier League table, and losing just one of their last five matches, European qualification is not totally out of the question this season.
While they must still face the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, this team is capable of pulling off some incredible victories, which would be very timely at this point in the campaign.
Premier League standings | Points |
4. Chelsea | 49 |
5. Man City | 48 |
6. Newcastle | 47 |
7. Brighton | 47 |
8. Fulham | 45 |
9. Aston Villa | 45 |
10. Bournemouth | 44 |
11. Brentford | 41 |
If Brentford miss out on European football, however, the likes of Man United and Tottenham might be looking to bring Frank in as potential replacements for Ruben Amorim or Postecoglou, respectively.
The Bees are separated from fourth-place Chelsea by just eight points, with Newcastle, Aston Villa and Bournemouth all sandwiched in between, so supporters will not be getting too concerned right now.
The manager’s future might not be the only fear this summer, with Arsenal keeping tabs on Bryan Mbeumo, and Yoane Wissa attracting attention from multiple big-name clubs.
