Omar Marmoush to push for Man City summer exit after fresh transfer talks

Omar Marmoush looks set to try and push for a move away from Manchester City this summer after he was kept at the club in January.

According to Middle Eastern outlet WinWin, the Egypt international is keen on the idea of joining Barcelona next season, as the Spanish giants have held talks over a potential deal for the winger.

Marmoush was heavily linked with a move to both Aston Villa and Tottenham during the recent window, but Football Insider revealed that he was ultimately kept around by Pep Guardiola due to Jeremy Doku’s latest injury.

It remains to be seen whether either of those two clubs will reignite their interest in the 27-year-old at the end of the season, but they look likely to face a major battle with some top Spanish sides if they do try to sign him.

Barcelona to battle La Liga rivals for Omar Marmoush after internal meeting

Barcelona have Marmoush firmly in their sights as one of their top targets for the upcoming window, and they have already held discussions regarding the possibility of a move for him.

The Blaugrana have already held talks about the wideman during a meeting between their key management figures and Marmoush’s entourage during the Africa Cup of Nations.

It is understood that the Manchester City star is “highly admired” by the hierarchy of the Catalan outfit, and it is believed that the player himself would jump at the chance to represent them, prompting the possibility that he could angle for a move.

However, Barcelona’s chances of sealing a deal for Marmoush could easily be affected by ongoing transfer links elsewhere in the Premier League.

Man City to ‘prioritise’ Matheus Nunes replacement this summe

Football Insider revealed on Friday that Manchester City are set to make it a summer “priority” to find a replacement for Matheus Nunes ahead of next season.

The Portuguese has been used as a makeshift right-back throughout the campaign so far, but Guardiola and Co. have already identified that as a position that could be improved for next term.

City continue to be linked with a move for Roma defender Wesley, who has been nicknamed the next Cafu, and as a result, they appear increasingly likely to make a move for him this summer.

It remains to be seen what stance City will take in relation to Marmoush’s future, but he could potentially follow Nunes out the door before next season gets underway.
