Patrick Vieira told to ‘get over it’ after £190m Chelsea development – pundit

Frank McAvennie has told Patrick Vieira to stop worrying about Chelsea and focus on Crystal Palace.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker insisted there has always been a spending gap between the top and bottom teams in the Premier League.

As quoted by the Daily Mail (17 January), the Palace boss said the ability of top teams like Chelsea to spend big on foreign players makes it more difficult for teams like the Eagles.

Vieira said other clubs assume some of the teams lower down the division have the same spending power as those at the top.

The Blues have spent £190million in the January window so far.

But McAvennie insisted Vieira’s problem is nothing new.

They have always had that,” he told Football Insider.

It has always been the case that if Chelsea wanted somebody they would go and get them. Man City is the same. Now Newcastle is doing it.

Patrick Vieira should just concentrate on Crystal Palace because it is not just Chelsea, Newcastle are going out and doing it. Because they have got money the price goes up.

Chelsea

Crystal Palace might get a player at a decent price because they know they have not got the money that the other clubs have got.

Get over it Patrick it is life. It is football, that is the way things are at the moment. It is all about how deep your pockets are.
